The beauty products I’m obsessed with right now

Welcoming in spring with a few new favourites.

First, I would like to congratulate everyone for surviving another winter. I hope I don’t have to see snow again until Christmas but I live in Canada and I know we’ll probably have snow until April. The next few weeks are our transitional period and my skin, mood, and outfits are struggling to make sense of what is happening outside.

The extra hour of daylight is nice but I still have the urge to hibernate for another three weeks. My skin, while it is mostly clear and hydrated, still has moments of dullness. I went for a microdermabrasion facial a couple weeks ago but I also need to keep up my daily skincare regimen to maintain the results. And, if I’m being honest, I haven’t doing much with my skin.

That’s why it’s always nice to find new products that you’re excited to use. I found a few products to obsess over and I’ve been using a lot recently.

Smooth as a rubber ducky

My love for exfoliation knows no bounds. I’m a huge fan of gycolic acid in the form of serums and scrubs but I’ve recently discovered the magic of exfoliating peels. Saturday Skin’s Rub-A-Dub Refining Peel has quickly become one of my favourites. It’s a creamy texture but has tiny enzymes that lifts and removes dead skin cells. My skin felt lovely afterwards and the peel is so gentle I can use it a couple times a week without irritating my skin.

Rodial: mother of dragons

I can’t remember when I started using Rodial but it started with the Snake Oxygenating and Cleansing Bubble Mask and I absolutely loved it. Some of my favourite Rodial skincare lines are inspired by a unique and odd hero ingredient: snake serum, bee’s venom, and dragon’s blood. I’ve tried a few products from each line but the dragon’s blood line is probably my favourite.

The Hyaluronic Mask is my secret hydration/plumping product and I’ve been sneaking it underneath my sheet masks for an extra boost. I also like using it as a sleeping mask because it absorbs so quickly and I can see the results when I wake up the next morning. I just spread a thin layer on my skin before bed and let it go.

Fenty bomb dot com

While I’ve fallen in love with all of the Fenty Beauty lip products, I’m going through a big lip gloss moment. And, if I’m being honest, lip gloss is and always will be my first true love.

Fenty Beauty’s Gloss Bomb is on my list of favourites for a couple reasons. I fell in love with the Fenty packaging. It’s so minimal but also really glamorous at the same time. I’m also a big fan of the formula. I like that it’s not sticky or overly glossy. It has the perfect thickness and texture and I love the glossy, shimmery finish.

Hydration station

Vichy’s Mineral 89 isn’t new to my top shelf of beauty products and I’ve already written about it on the blog when I rounded up my favourite hydration-boosting products. I love this product for so many reasons. It’s lightweight, absorbs quickly, and hydrate my skin like no other product. Mineral 89 is pumped with hyaluronic acid, the superhero ingredient that can hold 1000 times its weight in water and my skin has completely changed for the better.

As we transition into the spring season, I’m more conscious of what products I’m using on my skin. I love using Mineral 89 because it guarantees that my skin will get the hydration it needs but also increases the efficacy of other products. My skin is softer, smoother, and more receptive to anything I use on top so I usually start with it after I use toner.

So, when I found out they were releasing a limited edition Mineral 89 in honour of the Lunar New Year, I decided I should buy it. Also, I’m almost done my current bottle and I cannot go a day without using this product. .
