My favourite outfits of 2019

These are my top three favs!

I can’t believe 2019 is almost over. This year went by so quickly and I feel like I need to make a list of all the awesome things that have happened to me. I finished my postgraduate program in Communications, got a great job as a full-time writer, and became the proud parent of a humongous elephant ear plant. 2019 has been a year of growth and positivity for me and I’m hoping to bring that energy into the new year and new decade.

But, of course, I love looking back at all my outfits and selecting my favourite looks of the year. This time last year I was obsessed with leopard print and faux fur, and I marvelled over the fact that pantsuits were a new addition to my wardrobe. This year was a continuation of the pantsuit theme, but I also posted a few outfits that were more casual.

Pantone’s colour of the year may have been living coral, but green was clearly mine. From my faded olive jumpsuit to my almost fluorescent green sweater, I sample just about every and any shade of green in my outfits. It wasn’t intentional but it’s definitely become my favourite colour. Sorry, yellow!

Here are my favourite looks of the year:

1. Mesh bodysuit

I absolutely loved wearing this mesh bodysuit so much I posted it twice. I wore it with my equally loved paper bag waist pants and I paired it with my gilded maxi skirt when I went to Toronto Fashion Week in the fall. I loved the exaggerated puffs on the shoulders and the fact that it was mesh. It’s so comfortable and I will definitely be wearing it in 2020.

2. White shift dress

This dress made me think of Santorini and island vacations. It was so light and comfortable to wear, and I absolutely loved the off-the-shoulder look. I couldn’t tell you how many times I wore it over the summer. And, I paired it with these adorable white espadrilles to complete the look. Next year, I’m hoping to travel more and now I have the perfect dress to wear during my dream Greece vacation.

3. Green pantsuit

Apparently I can’t say no to a pantsuit now. When I saw this at Addition Elle I didn’t even hesitate to buy it. The colour is really what drew me in, but I fell in love with the oversized blazer and super comfy pants. I love that I can dress this pantsuit up with a pair of heels and a sleek turtleneck sweater, or style it more casually with a t-shirt and sneakers. The possibilities are endless.

I can’t really pick a favourite, so tell me what yours is in the comment section. I hope 2019 was as fantastic for you as it was for me. See you in 2020!
