My favourite fall looks

Fall in style.

If I had to pick a favourite season, I will chose fall every time. The weather, the fashion, and the fact that the year is almost over are just a few of the reason I’m most excited for autumn. This is the first time in a couple of years that I’ve really been able to enjoy the season. There have been so many events over the last few weeks and I’ve been using every single one of them as an excuse to get dressed up. Here are a few of my favourite looks this fall.

Varsity Blues

The two fall trends I’m obsessed with right now are all things varsity and chocolate brown. I’ve always wanted a letterman jacket and now I can’t stop seeing them. Plus, I’m a major Gossip Girl fan, so anything vaguely preppy and chic and I’m all over it. And if you asked me to wear brown a few years ago, I would’ve said no thank you. I prefer black. But something about chocolate brown this year has me thinking I should’ve done this sooner. It’s such a good neutral, like black, but is so much warmer. This outfit is definitely on repeat.

Sweater Weather

While September is technically marks the beginning of fall, I believe chunky knit sweaters belong in the cooler autumn months of October and November. Until then, I’m pretty much living in sweater vests. I just love how versatile they are. I can wear them with skirts, slacks, or even leather leggings and they still look cute, casual, and comfy. My signature.

Blazers forever

If there is one item of clothing I wear throughout the fall season it’s going to be a blazer. Paired with a simple white tee and jeans or layered over a summery slip dress, I can’t get enough of this wardrobe staple. I really love this metallic gold blazer from H&M. It’s not one that I’d wear everyday, but it definitely elevates something simple like a slip dress.

Sweater Dress(ed) to Impress

If I’m being honest, I will wear dresses and skirts even in the dead of winter (in Canada, yes). And this sweater dress from Reitmans is one I’ll be wearing all fall and into the colder months of winter. It has the perfect about of coverage with its midi length, cap sleeves and mock neck. In the winter, I’d probably layer a chunky knit sweater over top to give me a little extra warmth, but for the fall I usually style it with my favourite duster coat or puffer jacket.

Fall brights

Bold colours aren’t just for the summer months. I’m a huge believer in dopamine dressing and this sweater from Topshop will be in rotation throughout the fall and winter. I’ve been wearing hot pink a lot this summer, so the neon yellow seemed like a natural progression. I love styling it with a pair of wide leg pants, but it has such a classic silhouette, I can pretty much wear it with anything.
