2025 Unwrapped: The five outfits I loved this year

2025 Unwrapped: The five outfits I loved this year

I will be repeating these outfits until the end of time.

With another year coming to an end, I thought it would be a good idea to do a recap of my favourite outfits this year. One thing I learned in 2025 is how important it is for me to stay inspired when it comes to fashion. It’s so easy to get overwhelmed by micro-trends and feel like you have to be constantly buying new things in order to keep your wardrobe “updated.” But this year, I made more of an effort to look at my own closet and try to reimagine some of my past outfits.

I still added a few pieces to by collection, but I was more intentional about my purchases. I found that a single item like a great jacket or a pair of really good jeans can unlock so many new outfit combinations. And of course, never underestimate the power of an amazing accessory. This year was definitely the year of bag charms, brooches, and belts. I added a few of each to my collection and I’m hoping those will continue to trend into 2026.

If I had to describe my style this year, I’d probably call it Picnic Girl core. l even wrote a post about the best vegetable-scented candles, because I was so heavily inspired by the Gardencore trend. I incorporated a lot of colour, fun patterns, and flowy silhouettes that paid homage to all things garden girl but adding in a few elements to each outfit that make it feel more personal. Here are five of my favourite outfits this year!

Strawberry Shortcake is my style icon

My obsession with strawberries has a long history. If I had to name my first signature scent, I’d probably say it was The Body Shop’s range of strawberry-scented bodycare because I used it every day from the time I was 10 to my late teens. And while I’ve always loved incorporating fruit prints in my outfits (and sometimes even my nail art), something about this year really reignited my obsession with the strawberry motif. I’m partially blaming Strawberry Shortcake, because I’ve spotted quite a few pieces of merch during my weekly trips to Winners and HomeSense. But fruit prints have also been trending over the last couple years. From tomato girl summer to cherry coded, it’s clear that fruit motifs are serving major fashion inspo and I couldn’t be happier about it.

Gingham girl spring

I added a few pieces to my wardrobe this year, and this gingham print jacket was one of the best. I was looking for a good quilted jacket to get me through the spring months, and came across this one during a random visit to Anthropologie. From the oversized collar to the little string ties along the front, it was everything I was hoping for in a spring jacket. Fast forward a few months and I can safely say I’ve added no less than five gingham-printed pieces to my closet and I cannot wait to wear them next spring.

Wide leg pants, forever!

Unlike some of my millennial peers, I was only too happy to kick my skinny jeans to the curb in favour of wider-legged pants and I’m never going back. I’ve added a few wide-leg jeans to my wardrobe this year, but these palazzo pants from Anthropologie were something I didn’t even know I needed in my life. The best part is that they came in one of my favourite fall/winter colours, so it was super easy to style them with pieces I already owned.

Berry burgundy

Did someone say cherry coded? There’s nothing I love more than a monochrome outfit, and this burgundy mini dress was the perfect addition to my fall and winter wardrobe. Not only is burgundy the colour of the season, but it’s also a great colour for me as a True Winter. I already had these stunning tights from Sheertex, so it was a total no brainer to style them together. I wore it to a holiday party I attended in October and it ended up being the perfect choice.

The perfect holiday outfit

After attending quite a few holiday parties this year, I think I’ve finally come up with a few solid outfits I can repeat next year and this sequin dress from Reformation will definitely be in the mix. I have a few sequin pieces in my closet, but everything from the colour to the full length and bodycon shape of this dress made it an absolute must have. Add in the matching sequin bag from Reitmans and shaggy white jacket from Torrid this was easily my favourite outfit of the year.

The six things on my 2025 Christmas wish list

The six things on my 2025 Christmas wish list

The list has been made.

It’s finally the most wonderful time of year, but I’ve honestly been in holiday mode since early September. Between writing gift guides and squirrelling away gifts for friends and family over the last few months, the holiday season has taken over my calendar, home, and mental state. But now that December is here and all the gift guides have been published, I can finally focus on my own holiday wish list. Here are a few things I’m wishing for this year.

The perfect red bag

While I already have an impressive collection of handbags, there is always an outfit that makes me think I should add a new bag into the mix. Over the summer, I realized that I have a newfound obsession with all things gingham and my satiny bow bag from A Bronze Age doesn’t always match the vibe of a more casual, down-to-earth print like gingham. Enter my latest shopping quest to find the perfect red bag. This gingham print bag from Coach sold out months ago, but I’ve been using it as inspiration for future fashion finds.

All the Glossier merch

As a longtime fan of Glossier, I can admit that I’ve probably spent more money on merch than on actual beauty products. But in my defence, it’s so good. From cozy hoodies and picnic blankets to bag charms and cosmetic bags, there is always something from the Glossier Goods section that I’m eyeing. This year, I’ve been dying to get my hands on one of their limited edition lighters and although I don’t have AirPods, I’ve added the carrying case to my wish list, too. If I had to dream up another possible merch idea, I’d ask for a little bag charm/case for my lip gloss. I know Fenty Beauty and Bath and Body Works have dropped similar products earlier this year, and I’d love to see Glossier’s take on the trending accessory.

Something Selkie

A girl never forgets her first Selkie dress. I bought mine from Anthropologie about a year ago and I’ve been trying to add more pieces to my wardrobe ever since. I have two full-length gowns already, so I would love to get a mini dress to add some variety. But my number one pick would be a puffy pink gown. I think it includes all the classic Selkie details and it’s in my favourite colour!

Out of this world winter boots

I’ll be honest and say that I wasn’t always a fan of these boots. I remember seeing someone wear them on the bus when I was in high school and thought they were so over the top. Fast forward over a decade later and I’m finally on board. With Après-ski fashion trending again this year, I’ve been trying to build out my winter wardrobe to include some cute and practical pieces. What colour, you ask? Why, of course, in pink!

Dreamy dinnerware

Maybe I’m in my hostess era, because I cannot stop shopping for all things dinnerware. I’ve been stalking a few stores—namely HomeSense, Anthropologie, Simons, and H&M—and adding all kinds of items to my physical and online shopping cart. I have a few pieces from Fable Home in Blush Pink that I haven’t taken out of their boxes yet, because I want to have everything in one place. My theme is pink, bows, and pearls, so I’m hoping to find a great table cloth, some taper candles and holders, and cute napkin rings.

A big trip

As much as I would have loved to travel this year, it just didn’t work out. So I’m hoping that 2026 will be a big year of travel for me. I have a few countries on my list: Greece, Ireland, and France are probably my top three, but honestly I’m open to anywhere. I’m looking for my next big adventure!
