I’m an eighties lady—for the moment.
Just to be clear, I’m a hardcore 90s baby but I’ve been channelling the 80s lately. I’m blaming it on my new boombox purse and maybe a little bit on my Converse. Both were recent purchases and I thought they’d look amazing together. I was right. I’ve always been drawn to over-the-top-bordering-on-obnoxious accessories so when I saw this fabulous, boxy purse at Aldo I had to get it. I was getting major Kate Spade vibes, who’s known for selling some odd but also adorable handbags. A boombox, in comparison, is pretty tame if you ask me.
The Chuck Taylors were just a necessary purchase mostly driven by peer pressure. My sisters have some sort of low-cut-white-converse cult going on right now and apparently I’ve been drafted. I’m about it though. My only concern is keeping them so pristinely white, which is one of the rules in our sporty-chic sisterhood. I’m open to receiving tips and testimonials.
I could mention the fact that I’m wearing—and have been wearing—skirts in Toronto as of late despite the fact that it’s the dead of winter in Canada right now. I’m definitely not complaining and hope it continues until my birthday in March when we can just cancel winter altogether. Also, I’ve been living in the most comfortable turtleneck sweater of life. It was an impulse purchase at H&M and I have no regrets. Well, maybe one. I wish I’d found it in another colour because they’re that cozy.
