Beauty products you need for dry hands

For anyone who washes their hands approximately 100 times a day.

I’ve always kept a couple tubes of hand cream handy. I keep one in my purse, one at my desk, and one by my bed, so I never have to search for one when I need it. I’ve already posted a roundup of my favourite hand creams, but now, as I wash and sanitize my hands for the millionth time, my hands need even more hydration. I’ve tried everything from creams and balms to masks and oils, and these are the five products I’m really loving right now.

Dior’s Ultra-Hydrating Nail Cream

I’ve been using cuticle oil on my nails for as long as I can remember, but I tried out Dior’s Nail Cream and I don’t think I’ll ever use anything else. It’s basically a sleeping mask for your nails. I just slip a little on before I got to bed and let the magic work overnight. It has a thick, buttery texture that literally melts into your skin. You only need a little bit for both hands, and it’s so moisturizing. I’m still using the original pot and I haven’t even gotten halfway through it. I could probably make it last until the winter before I have to replace it.

Cake Beauty Hand Cream

Most of the hand creams I use on a daily basis either have no scent, or they have a light, natural scents like coconut, almond, or vanilla. They’re the best ones to use in public spaces, because they don’t have a very strong or distinct scent. Cake Beauty hand creams, on the other hand, are made to stand out. The sweet, candy-inspired scents are distinct, and that’s why I love them. It’s a nice change from the other hand creams I use every day. The Candied Oat Milk Cream is one of my favourites because it has this light, sweet scent that reminds me of sugar. The other scent I’m really liking right now is the Sweet Mint & Cream. My hands actually feel softer after using it and I love how calming the peppermint scent is. Plus, it’s packed with a bunch of moisturizing ingredients like shea butter and coconut oil that absorbs quickly into the skin, without leaving behind that gross greasy feeling.

Hand Masks by Patchology

First things first, I love sheet masks. They’re a lazy, but effective way to get better skin. That’s why I was so excited to try these Self-Warming Hand Masks by Patchology. I just had to slip them on and sit for ten minutes, which ended being the most difficult part of the entire process. Getting them on was a bit of a challenge, especially when I already had one on. They feel a little cold at first, but they have these little sticker tabs at the wrist to help create a firm seal at the end. And once they’re sealed, your hands and body heat warm up the mask and help the serum sink deeper into your skin. Genius!

Sitting for ten minutes and not being able to do anything with your hands is actually so hard. I didn’t realize how much I use my hands when I use sheet masks on my face. And, unlike other hand masks that are made in a glove style, these mittens basically trap all your fingers together, so you can’t use them. I had to just stare at my phone for ten minutes, because my hands were actually useless.

I will definitely use the masks again because my hands were so soft when I took them off. But, I will definitely prepare a hands-free activity to do while I have them on, like put on a movie, or call a friend beforehand.

The Body Shop Moisturizing Gloves

I’ve already sang my praises about The Body Shop’s Almond Hand & Nail Cream. I’ve been using it for years, and it has the most amazing sweet, but nutty scent that I just love. The new addition is a pair of Moisturizing Gloves that look kind of funny, but are actually so effective. All you have to do is apply your hand cream like you normally would (I put on a little extra to make it more of a treatment), and then slip on the gloves. I could do anything I would normally do while I had them on, which mostly included me scrolling through my phone. You can leave them on overnight, but I l found the cream absorbs in to my skin within ten minutes. I put them on at different times in the day, like after I finish showering, or while I’m working at desk. They’re great for literally whenever.
