The four things I’m loving this December

The little things I can’t stop using.

The final month of 2020 is already in full swing, and I’ve never been happier to celebrate the end of the year. I don’t know about you, but it feels like winter snuck up on me. With the holiday season looking so different this year, I haven’t done a lot of my usual, festive activities like decorating, visiting Christmas markets, and buying an advent calendar. Still, there are a few things I’m pretty excited about using this month, so I thought I’d write a post about them. Here are the four products I’m loving this month!

Biossance Squalane + Elderberry Jelly Cleanser, sephora.com.

A jelly cleanser

I can’t tell you the last time I used a cream or gel-based cleanser, because I love using cleansing oils and balms so much. I love that they’re two in one makeup remover and face wash. I can apply them to my skin before washing my face to break down makeup, and then I’ll add a little water to cleanse. This jelly cleanser from Biossance is somewhere between a balm and an oil, which is kind of perfect for me. It has a very buttery texture. Unlike a thick balm, it applies really smoothly, but it’s not as runny as a liquid cleansing oil. And above all, it doesn’t leave my skin feeling tight. It’s the perfect cleanser as we head into winter. This cleanser has squalane in it which helps my skin absorb moisture instead of stripping it away.

A new chain

I miss wearing jewelry. I don’t wear it as often now that I’m home all the time. So, I’ve been on the hunt for minimalist pieces I can wear every day in quarantine. I got this necklace on Etsy, and it’s probably my favourite piece right now. I love anything to do with my astrology, so I immediately fell in love with this chain. I love the graffiti font. It’s a little cooler than the cursive nameplate necklaces that I always see, but just as versatile. The length is perfect on me and I can layer it with over necklaces if I’m going to for a stacked look.

A new makeup cloth

My least favourite thing to do at the end of the day is remove makeup, especially now that I only wear it a couple times a week. I love using my Original Makeup Eraser cloth to take off my makeup and cleanser from my face. I only have a few that I’m constantly washing, so I decided it was time to buy a new one. This cactus-themed cloth is the cutest addition to my collection of face cloths. It’s so soft and almost twice the size of my other ones, which is great because sometimes I end up using two cloths when I decide to do a face mask after taking off my makeup. I also love that it comes with a little scrunchie, because you can never have too many of them.

New eyewear

For someone who wears sunglasses as often as I do, you’d think I’d have an equally large collection of regular glasses. I don’t, but these glasses are making me reconsider. I love the shape and minimalist aesthetic of these specs. They’re super comfortable to wear and the gold frame adds a little extra something to my look like a piece of jewelry would. They’re not prescription, so they don’t improve my eyesight or anything. But the quality of the lenses is impressive. I can wear them all day without really noticing that I was wearing them.
