All the things I’m loving this June

Seriously, I’m obsessed.

My skin is finally in a really good place, and I think the warm spring weather has something to do with it. Well, that and a few new products that I’ve been testing. The last few months have been stressful (pandemic notwithstanding) and it was starting to show in my skin in the form of pesky pimples around my chin. Fortunately, I have my holy grail beauty products to turn to, plus a few things I’m loving this month.

Spots be gone!

I mentioned that my skin flares up with stress and I’ve found that there are only a few products that I actually help. This face oil by Versed is a new one. It’s packed with tea tree and rosemary oil and basically helps soothe and diminish my pimples as quickly as they appear. I’ve tried other products with tea tree oil, but I find this one very gentle. The fragrance isn’t as potent as other ones I’ve tried and doesn’t feel as intense on my skin. I use a small dollop after I’ve applied my moisturizer during my nighttime routine and after a couple days my zits are pretty much gone.

Sally Hensen Complete Salon Manicure Beautifiers Nail + Cuticle Serum, well.ca.

The nail saver

It’s been months since I’ve gotten a professional manicure and I’ve been trying out a lot of serums, oils, and hand creams to keep my nails feeling and looking their best. With all the added hand washing and the cold, dry weather over the last few months, my nails took a beating this past winter and I’m just starting to see positive results. I’m really liking this nail serum by Sally Hansen. Instead of being heavy and greasy like an oil or cream, this serum is so lightweight and sinks right into my skin. I keep a bottle on my desk to remind myself to use it a couple times a day. I’m still hoping to get a manicure, but my nails look way better than they did a few months ago.

Glossier Balm Dotcom in Coconut, glossier.com.

A multipurpose balm

I’ve never met a Glossier product I didn’t love, but lately I’ve been using this balm a lot. I love the coconut scent and unlike some of the other scents, this one isn’t tinted, so I can use it literally anywhere on my body. It has a thick texture, and I really only need to use a pea-sized amount to get the job done. I can use it as a lip balm or as an extra nourishing hand cream. If I leave the house, this is in my purse because it’s just so handy.

Boscia Cryosea Firming Icy-Cold Cleanser, thebay.com.

My new summer cleanser

Boscia isn’t new, but the brand is new to my collection. I’ve been using a bunch of their products over the last few weeks and this cleanser has become my favourite. It’s a very light gel cleanser and it doesn’t leave my skin feeling tight or dry, which means it’s gentle enough for my skin. My skin feels fresh and it leaves my skin feeling super cool, making it perfect for summer. It’s basically like using minty toothpaste or breath mints, but for your face.
