It’s either studs or hoops. There is no in between.
When I think about how long I’ve been wearing earrings—which, truthfully, has only been about eight years—I cannot believe how many earrings I’ve bought, lost, and then bought again. I didn’t pierce my ears until I was 17—partly because I wasn’t allowed to as a child and partly because by the time I was old enough I was too chicken to get them done. But here we are.
Too many earrings
One eventful trip to Claire’s and eight years later, my collection of earrings is at an all time low. Why? Because I realized, upon moving back to Toronto, that I had way too many earrings for someone with only two ears/piercings. I had earrings from high school that I haven’t worn…well, since high school. From huge dangling rhinestone earrings to adorable bunny shaped studs, my vanity was drowning in an unnecessary amount of ear jewels.
The purge
2017 was the year of purging for me and I’m hoping to continue in 2018, starting with my earring collection. What’s left is a much more manageable collection of earrings and I have them displayed in the most beautiful gilded boxes from Indigo.
My new style
I’m a huge fan of Kate Spade earrings for their minimalist but also glamorous, glittery details but I also know that I lose earrings way too often to invest so much money in them. Khloe Kardashian gets her hoops from Claire’s (seriously, she tweeted about it) and if $10 earrings work for her they’re definitely good enough for me. I picked up an awesome multipack of minimalist gold studs from Aldo and they’re perfect for me.
Most earrings purchased at: Aldo, F21, Kate Spade, Nordstrom, Claire’s, Charming Charlie, Jenny Bird, & House of Harlow 1960.
Love how cute and dainty this all looks!!
